About the Trainer

Welcome dog owners!

Let me introduce myself: my name is Ingrid Ford. I am dedicated to making people and dogs understand each other better so they can go forward as a team with matching expectations. I am happy to see that you are looking for a dog trainer and/or behavioral consultant because this means you are dedicated to your own well-being and happiness, as well as your dog’s.

My Life As a Dog Lover

From the moment I was born I have held a special place in my heart for animals, especially dogs. Like humans, they are a social species that can get along with others. But unlike most other species, dogs are one of the few animals that actively try to read people’s intentions directly from their eyes. This makes a dog so responsive to people and such an ideal partner of a human-dog team. The possibilities for interacting with a dog are endless, but they all start with creating a bond of trust, understanding, and common ground between the human and the dog.

My Credentials As a Dog Trainer

I graduated with honors from Animal Behavior College and continually strive to enhance my theoretical background with additional education, such as programs on dog-cat interactions, shelter animals, and blind or otherwise disabled animals. I also stay up to date with new developments in the field of dog training and behavioral research by attending conferences and workshops and current membership of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. Apart from training dogs for clients, family, and friends I have also accumulated years of additional practical experience from training many different shelter dogs to successfully prepare them for new permanent homes.
